At the end of the 4 Hours of Imola in the European Le Mans Series, while the Eurointernational team was celebrating the victory of Adam Ali and Matthew Bell on the Ligier JS320 #11, the cameras showed Antonio Ferrari holding a message in his hands, SATNAM SINGH RACE WITH US .
Since then, many people and media have contacted us asking the reason and meaning of that message.
A simple gesture that the team manager – Antonio Ferrari – would have wanted to keep personal, intimate, without clamor or publicity. But with so many requests, Eurointernational has decided to explain the meaning, directly from Antonio’s voice:
“One month ago the tragic death of the Indian laborer Satnam Singh in the Agro Pontino area, not far from the lands where I spent my youth, shook me deeply. You can’t die bled dry at 31 years old in Italy working for 5-6 euros per day; I spent seven years racing in India, managing the JK Tyre championship with our BMW Formulas and I knew a very different world based on rural activities, so far from ours. This gesture is nothing compared to what India has given to me and to my Team. So I immediately thought that if we had won the race in Imola, I would have donated the prize of € 5,000.00 to Soni, Satnam’s wife, to try to help her for the future. I would have keep this donation confidential, I had only informed my drivers Adam and Matthew who said they were happy for this gesture. Imola was a special weekend, perfect execution by all and I’m sure Satnam was racing with us… Once we’ll receive the prize from the European Le Mans Series organization, I will personally hand it over to Soni.“
