First win of the season for Eurointernational in the 2024 European Le Mans Series. Adam Ali and Matthew Bell scored in Imola the best result since their appearance on the #11 Ligier JSP3 prepared by the italian team, beating a very competitive starting grid. At the start, Bell moved from 8thΒ to 3rdΒ in LMP3 by the end of the opening lap, conquering the leadership just before the Virtual Safety Car period. At the restart and after the driver swap, Ali opened the gap leaving the other cars on their fights for the second and third steps of the podium, ending the race over 13″ ahead of the Team Virage’s car.
Both drivers and team were over the moon at the end of the race after the incredible effort done during the last months.
“The team executed a perfect race this weekend – said Adam – Matt having a phenomenal first 2 stints getting the car from P8 to P1, followed by an ideal strategy call by the team to bring the car into the pits during the virtual safety car meant that we were able to lead for the most of the race in a dominant fashion. This race wasnβt just about outright pace by Matt and I but also good communication and work by the team throughout pit stops and on-track incidents, all of which was flawlessly executed over the 4 hours. Big thanks to the whole Eurointernational team this weekend and weβre so grateful to have won the race an our home track.”
“Teamwork makes dream work – said Matthew Bell – What a great buch of people we have Eurointernational, these results don’t just happen by themselves, a lot of effort goes into making these performances possible. Thank you Antonio Ferrari and Adam Ali, let’s get another one in Spa!”
Antonio Ferrari (Eurointernational team manager): “What a incredible win! We miss the pole position but we knew to have a great car and setup for the race. We just did a perfect job, everything went smooth during the 4 hours race in Imola, and a great applause goes to Adam, Matt and the whole team. Once again we shown our potential and we are already focused on the next one, Spa Francorchamps.“
