Stunning performance by Matt bell and Adam ali in the last event of 2023 European Le Mans Series at Portimao. In Portugal, where there were hosted two races in order to recover the one canceled in Imola, the Eurointernational duo made a great improvements through the weekend, with a double second row in qualify. After a positive race 1 (officialy named as 4 Hours of Algarve), the #11 Ligier-Nissan shown a great pace with a final result that didn’t reflected the real performance.
On sunday for the 4 Hours of Portimao, The Eurointernational Ligier-Nissan of Matt Bell and Adam Ali stormed through in the difficult conditions, the British-Canadian duo finishing over a lap ahead of the championship winning no17 COOL Racing Ligier. Torrential rain forced the race start to be delayed by 90-minutes before the decision was made to start the race behind the safety car. However, after two laps the race was red flagged, and the cars lined up on the grid for 45-minutes as the heavy rain abated. Once started, went ahead and set off to build a big lead to the rest of the LMP3 field. In the wet conditions Bell’s Ligier was coping better than some of the LMP2 cars and was leading the entire LMP2 Pro/Am field within a few laps. After the pit-stop, Adam Ali brought the car to the chequered flag keeping the first place, giving to Eurointernational the first 2023 win.
This final event put Adam Ali and Matt Bell in the second place of final LMP3 standings, a great result and reward both for drivers and team, for the hard work and effort made through the season.
